Plains of Moab

Israel's final wilderness encampment, on the plains east of the Jordan opposite Jericho, where Balaam was hired to curse Israel and failed (Numbers 22-24), where Israelite men were drawn into idolatry and immorality with Moabite women at Baal-peor (Numbers 25), and where Moses delivered the sermons recorded in Deuteronomy before climbing Mount Nebo to view the promised land and die there (Deuteronomy 34:1-8).
