Capital of Ammon, besieged by Joab's army in the campaign during which David arranged Uriah's death while Uriah's own unit fought at its walls (2 Samuel 11:1, 14-17). Joab later called David to finish the siege personally, and David took the city and its crown (2 Samuel 12:26-31).
