The home of Elkanah and his wives Hannah and Peninnah in the hill country of Ephraim, where Hannah's prayers for a child were answered with the birth of Samuel, whom she later brought to Shiloh to serve the Lord as she had vowed (1 Samuel 1:1-2:11).
