Bethany
First named: Matthew 21:17
A village near Jerusalem, home to the siblings Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, whom Jesus loved and regularly visited (Luke 10:38-42; John 11:1-5). It was in Bethany that Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days in the tomb (John 11:1-44), and where He often stayed during His final week in Jerusalem.
