Philippi

NT Macedonia
The church in Philippi — stained-glass style group portrait

The first church Paul planted in Europe, begun with a small group of women praying by a river. Paul and Silas were later beaten and jailed here, and the church that grew from this beginning became one of Paul's most affectionate and financially generous partners in the gospel.
